Citizen App

If you like to travel while on the go and keep up with what’s new in your hometown, you’ll want to download the Citizen App. It’s a crime alert app that tells users when they are near an incident, depending on the proximity of their location. The app has launched a new feature called “Protect” that offers subscribers access to live safety agents for help in stressful or uncertain situations, including personal emergencies or if someone is drunk and disorderly.

For $19.99 a month, Citizen App users can call or message the safety agents for help with their issues. The safety agents have licensed law enforcement professionals who can assist with crime reporting, give directions or explain the situation to authorities when it’s unclear whether the police should be called.

The app is already available in 60 major U.S cities, including New York, Chicago, and Orlando, and its new protect tool will be added to all U.S users by 2021.

People who have used the app say it helps give directions and alert potential crime hotspots. The “Protect” feature is seen as a great new addition to the app and offers subscribers peace of mind when traveling alone or at night.

Users can get details of emergencies and crimes near them through the Citizen App. Another feature that is growing in popularity is the ability to send a tip on offense to a reporter or law enforcement agency.

The company behind the crime alert app says that it has seen substantial growth over the last few years. More than 500,000 users currently have access to the Citizen App on their smartphones, while more than 15 million people have downloaded it since its launch three years ago.

Andrew Frame launched the app as part of his desire to help citizens feel safer and also make it easier for law enforcement agencies to solve cases quickly.
