Raffaele Riva is an Italian professional basketball player who plays for Aquila Basket Trento. He had previously played with Auxilium Torino in Serie A2. Riva made his debut in the Italian League playing with Phoenix Milano (Serie A2), making a single appearance during the 2009-2010 season and then returning at the start of the 2013-2014 season to play for Auxilium Torino (Serie A2).

Raffaele Riva has also played with the Italian national team, winning the silver medal at the 2013 Mediterranean Games, where he scored 37 points against Morocco in the group stage.

He also won the silver medal at the 2013 European Championship for Small Countries. Since then, he has returned to the Italian domestic league and is one of the top rebounders. He played his first game with Aquila Basket Trento on November 2, 2014.

He also won the gold medal at the 2015 European Championship for Small Countries. Riva is currently playing with Aquila Basket Trento and is one of the top rebounders in the Italian domestic league.

For the season 2016-2017, Riva is the captain of Aquila Basket Trento. During that season, he reached his 1st Italian Cup final and also won the Italian Supercup against Victoria Libertas Pesaro.

For the 2017-2018 season, he reached his 2nd Italian Cup final, and Riva won again against Victoria Libertas Pesaro. Riva and Trento won their first title, the Italian Supercup 2018, the 2nd consecutive one. Raffaele Riva is the most critical player of Aquila Basket Trento; he is one of the best Italian players and has a great future ahead.

He played in all the FIBA European Championship for Small Countries games in the preliminary rounds, winning them all. He also played in all the European Championships for Small Countries 2017 games and won again, making it three consecutive victories for Italy.

Since the 2016-2017 season, he has been a captain of Aquila Basket Trento (that season, he reached his first Italian Cup final and also won the Italian Supercup).
