Roy Beck; A Beacon Of American Excellence

The name Roy Beck stands out when thinking about the Immigration Policy in America and how it affects the American people. NumbersUSA, founded by Mr. Beck in 1996, has been at the forefront of advising and educating the public on immigration and U.S. population issues.

Early Life

Beck was born in 1948 in Webster County, Missouri. After studying journalism at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, he was the former Chief Washington correspondent for the Booth Newspapers chain. He worked as a journalist for 30 years and gained a lot of experience before starting NumbersUSA.

While working as a journalist, Beck reported from a dozen countries and thirty states as a staffer with the Grand Rapids Press. Roy Beck also worked with Cincinnati Enquirer, Columbia Missourian, the Newhouse Newspaper Chain’s Washington bureau, and the United Methodist Reporter in Dallas.

Published Works

Roy Beck has a lot of published works, which is expected of any journalist. However, some of his works have been instrumental in shaping policy and advising the United Nations.

The “Ordeal of Immigration in Wausau,” published in 1990 in the Atlantic Monthly, is one such work. The report is included in the Britannica’s Encyclopedia “The Annals of America” and is what led to the creation of the NumbersUSA website and grassroots organization.

Beck is also a published author, having written several books. Roy has written “On Thin Ice” and “Prophets & Politics” on religion, public policy, and ethics. He also has written on immigration in “Re-Charting America’s Future” and “The Case Against Immigration”. These two books highlight the moral, economic, social, and environmental reasons for reducing immigration to traditional levels.

Other Engagements

Mr. Beck is a recipient of the U.S. Army Commendation Medal (non-combat service) awarded in 1972. He also engages in philanthropy and volunteer leadership. He has actively participated since 1990 in rehabilitating homes for the elderly poor.

Other than being an expert on population matters and immigration, Roy Beck continues to give lectures on sustainability and population growth. Mr. Roy Beck truly demonstrates American excellence. See related link to learn more.
