Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation is delighted to announce that our new garage provides four charging stations for electric cars. Our partnership with Chargepoint allows us to provide these cutting-edge charging stations for our residents and visitors. They will be available to any visitor or resident with a valid membership card from ChargePoint. RIOC is providing the stations because they are part of the public infrastructure. With this initiative, we encourage other organizations to invest similarly in providing these charging stations for visitors and residents.
ChargePoint is the leading global provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure services. With more than 30,000 independent charging stations in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia Pacific, ChargePoint provides the largest network of EV public charging stations anywhere in the world. Today, more than 1 million people around the globe rely on ChargePoint to power their daily lives.
New York City has made great strides towards becoming an eco-friendly city with new initiatives such as the ECO-NYC program. With the help of our ChargePoint partners, we can provide charging opportunities for EV drivers throughout NYC. Through these projects, we can change people’s perceptions about EVs and encourage them to consider buying one. This project also helps educate residents about the benefits of driving an electric car.
“Renewables is one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy, and we believe it is important to develop renewable resources to meet our future needs. We are committed to creating a sustainable place for people to live and work,” says CEO and President Shelton J. Hayne. RIOC is continuously researching and implementing procedures and innovations that align with our mission to enhance the well-being of residents and create a holistic space where they thrive and grow.
