A native of New Jersey, Levinsohn is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. In the late 1980s, he worked for six years at KKR, overseeing investments in Hi-Tech and Schick Shavers. While at Platinum Equity, he helped lead the firm’s $11 billion leveraged buyout of Burger King Holdings. In 1988, Levinsohn Sports Illustrated CEO joined KKR as an investment banker. While there, he helped KKR invest in Hi-Tech and Schick Shavers. In 1994, Levinsohn left KKR to join News Corporation, where he worked until 2007 as Fox Interactive Media (FIM) president.
While at Platinum Equity, he helped lead the firm’s $11 billion leveraged buyout of Burger King Holdings.
