RAC Certification is one of Health Carousel’s newest additions. Brett Peterson, Director of Operations for Health Carousel, explains, “It is fantastic to see how much impact a few moments spent with our RAC team can have on an organization’s culture and operations. I highly recommend having an assessment performed by one of our certified RAC teams. You will find the results to be as enlightening as I did!
Introducing a New RAC Certification Program
Since Health Carousel’s founding, we’ve offered our clients an array of quality assurance services. But only recently have we introduced our RAC certification program. If you need to become more familiar with what RAC stands for, it’s something we use daily in the healthcare industry. I’ll talk more about that in a moment, though. First, here’s some background info: The “Recognized Assessment Center” was coined by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). AHRQ is the US Department of Health and Human Services federal agency. They do a lot of research and gather data on healthcare quality issues. “Recognized” means that they’ve given AHRQ’s stamp of approval to an assessment center.”
The RAC certification program is designed to help facilities meet the needs of their patients, employees, and providers. It’s also designed to differentiate your organization from others performing HCAHPS or RAC assessments. If you need to become more familiar with HCAHPS, it’s just one component in the Assessment Choices model that AHRQ has developed for hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare facilities.
