Shelton Haynes

Shelton Haynes is the President & CEO of the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation in New York. Before joining Roosevelt Island, he was the Deputy Commissioner of Business and Economic Development for the City of New York. After attending college at MIT, Haynes began his career with a position in The White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy, where he advised President George H.W. Bush on science, technology, and national security issues.

Shelton Haynes was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and attended the Andisheh Montessori School. He attended college at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in the Dept. of Theatre and Communications, where he majored in Theatre Arts and Film and graduated with a BFA. His first role was as rocker Billy Pickettand two other parts were as DJ Lovelane and Harold Zephyr. Later on, Haynes was hired as a model at Ford Modelling Agency. He joined Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation in 2003 and was made its president and CEO in November 2005.

Shelton Haynes has won several awards, including the Humanitas Prize, The Taurus Multicultural Award, and the Action On Aging For The Arts Award. He has also been nominated for numerous awards, including the Young Artist Award, The American Theater Critics’ Association Awards, and six NAACP Image Awards. The President of the United States has also recognized him for his humanitarian work and by the United Nations and numerous other organizations in which he has served.

Shelton Haynes is a very talented and educated man. He has exceptional ability, knowledge of acting, and a love for it. Many organizations have recognized him for his work in the movie and theatre industry, including being nominated as Gofto Jones in the hit series The Princess Diaries. He is not only talented but also incredibly smart and intelligent.
